Trivia & History

Hamilton returned 25% of its investment after two months on Broadway. (Some shows have to run years to turn a profit.)

Tickets for Lin-Manuel Miranda's final perfomance (on July 9, 2016) were reportedly going for $10,000.

When the cast performed on the 2016 Tony Awards, they dropped the use of muskets out of respect for the victims of the shooting at the Pulse nightclub in Orlando which occurred the night before.

Creator and star Lin-Manuel Miranda tweeted on October 5, 2015 that filmmakers had been to see the show in hopes of filming it with the original cast. That filming eventually did happen in June 2016 and the film was released on Disney+ in July 2020.
