Trivia & History

This production was originally announced for an August 14 opening (with previews beginning July 16), following a pre-Broadway run at the Actors' Playhouse at the Miracle Theatre in Coral Gables, FL (May 7 - June 15). Alice Ripley and Hunter Foster starred and was directed by Connie Grappo. Jerry Zaks was hired to replace Grappo as director, Kerry Butler replaced Alice Ripley as Audrey and Rob Barlett took the role of Mr. Mushnik (from Lee Wilkof who presumably left because his wife, Grappo, was replaced).
