No songs listed for this production yet.
We are not certain who played the role of Mopsa on opening night at the New Amsterdam. Some sources list Junia Allen, while others list Fanny Migley (aka Fanny Midgley). The two reviews we have found of the production do not even agree on this. We have chosen to list Junia Allen, who was listed in the New York Times review (and was also in the cast list in the published piano-vocal score), but it may have been Migley.
Some sources give the name of the actor who played the Herald as having been Henry J. Santra, but the contemporary sources we have found list him as Charles Santra.
On opening night in New York (and also on opening night at the Chestnut Street Opera House during the pre-Broadway tryout), John Philip Sousa conducted. He may have conducted at other times as well.
