Many sources give the total number of performances as 140. The source for our total of 167 is J. P. Wearing's The London Stage 1950-1959: A Calendar of Productions, Performers, and Personnel. The book (one of several by Wearing in a series covering different decades) seems generally reliable. In addition, Wearing's performance total seems more plausible than 140 given the production's opening and closing dates.
