Unusually for 1949, the pit musicians (of whom there were 12) were credited by name in the playbill.
The production did not play a pre-Broadway tryout, possibly because financing was very tight. Instead, it played six previews at the Music Box. Only six previews were played between October 20, 1949, and October 29 (the night before opening).
In the playbill bio for La Verne French, it said, "The choreography in 'Lost in the Stars' was created by Mr. French especially for the show." We therefore credit him with the choreography, although he received no credit elsewhere in the playbill.
The production opened on a Sunday evening, which was unusual for Broadway in 1949.
