Trivia & History

The date of the first preview, November 13, is an educated guess.  Based on the calendar for 1969, and that the company played 40 previews before opening, it would put the previews beginning the week of November 9.  Figuring off an 8 performance a week schedule that is the norm, the 13th is the closest to an official date as we are likely to find.
