The production played 15 previews. Various sources over the years have mistakenly reported that it played 11 previews. The error originated in the issue of Variety dated March 28, 1979. The error was later picked up by other publications and later still by websites, some of which may have gotten the wrong information from secondary sources rather than directly from Variety.
When the tryout opened at the American Shakespeare Theatre, the actress playing Diane was billed as Dottie Frank, as she often had been during her career up to that point, although she had occasionally been billed as Dorothy Frank. By the time of the Broadway opening, she was billed as Dorothy Danner, the name by which she was generally billed thereafter in her later theatre career working mostly as a choreographer and director.
