A poor, illiterate baker's indignant defense of his young daughter's virtue brings about a small miracle, rocketing him into prosperity.

Frank Loesser wrote a complete draft of the show. The draft is dated February 23, 1967. The project was shelved in 1968. When Loesser passed away in 1969, he left a complete, unpolished version.
