Trivia & History

This recording features James Weissenbach as Franklin Shepard. It contains a tremendous amount of material cut or rewritten during previews, including "Darling!" (a song that's never been commercially recorded), a different overture, and the original versions of several numbers that were altered during previews (including all the original title song transition sequences). Also, Charley sings "Old Friends" in the Polo Lounge scene.
