Funny Girl

London Production (1966)

Trivia & History

The production grossed £225,000 ($630,000) during its 14-week London run and sold to maximum capacity every night (with all standing room sold as well).

The production closed when Barbra Streisand found that she was pregnant. Producers had planned to keep the show open after her departure with understudy Lisa Shane taking over the role of Fanny. But because Ms. Shane was not a bankable name, ticket sales could not be guaranteed and the production closed.
