Trivia & History

According to an interview with Alyce Gilbert in "The Longest Line," the Cassie dress was changed from its signature red to a cooler slate blue when actress Petra Sinawawski took over.  Siniwaski, who was a very fair-skinned red-head was washed out by the red dress, and Bennett, recalling that McKechnie wore a blue leotard during rehearsals, changed the color.  This is the only official production where Cassie has not worn red.
