Trivia & History

The adaptation played fast and loose with the original show. The plot was streamlined to have Billy Crocker (renamed Harry Dunn) pursuing Reno Sweeney (changed to a society woman) on a ship on her way to her wedding to Lord Evelyn Oakleigh. The setting was transposed to the 1920s. Many lyrics were changed as well.
