Fred Astaire's last Broadway musical and his only Broadway appearance without his sister Adele, who retired from show business after they appeared in The Band Wagon the year before.

In 1933, Astaire moved to Hollywood to work as a cultural icon.

When the producers asked Fred Astaire to star, he put off answering so that he could spend the summer in London wooing his future wife, Phyllis.

Rehearsals began in September 1932.
